TRAINING & PLACEMENT

The role of Training and Placement Cell is to provide students with a conducive environment and a platform for using their potential and skills to gain valuable training by either working on joint collaborative projects of institute with industry or to gain real hands-on experience of working in industry during summer vacations, or to achieve fruitful insights into various modern tools used by industry by demonstrations and training sessions at the institute or industry as per convenience. The cell acts as a “nodal point” of the interface between human resource departments of various companies and talented young graduates possessing worthwhile skills and knowledge.

The Training and Placement Cell consists of faculty members drawn from various departments, with student coordinators for the creation of an efficient interface between industries related to different engineering areas, and students looking for appropriate opportunities.

The T&P cell is well equipped with requisite infrastructure in terms of the dedicated area required as Conference cum Pre-Placement Talk Hall, Group Discussion Room, Interview Room, Testing Computer Lab. for online and offline tests, and modern facilities for Presentations, etc. The cell is also in the process of set-up a dedicated video conference facility inside T & P cell, as many companies express the inability to come for interviews to this place.

The Training and Placement Cell of the institute has been arranging training for students in industries for 6 weeks at the end of the 6th Semester and is currently in talks with various industries for dedicated 4-months training in the 8th Semester, and collaborative projects in 7th semester. The training schedule is as per the syllabus prescribed by H.P. Technical University, Hamirpur, H.P. (India) for the overall skill and knowledge development of students. Presently the students had chance to get training in some of the reputed companies in India – e.g. National Thermal Power Corporation, Honda Pvt. Ltd., Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd., Tata Motors, TISCO Jamshedpur, Tata Cummins, Mathura Refinery- Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., HPPCL, Maruti Udyog Ltd., L&T, Havells, DRDO, CSIO, TCIL-IT, Siemens, Reliance Group, HCL, Samsung, LG, EICHE, Volkswagen, Usha Martin, Sandhar Technologies, etc.
